Description

Greetings from one military man to another were sent with this 1915 World Series postcard. This scarce real photo card depicts Braves Stadium in Boston, where the Philadelphia Phillies and the Boston Red Sox met to determine baseball supremacy for the 1915 season, in games 3 and 4 of that year's Fall Classic. Presenting in (VG+) condition, this antique postcard was sent from "Ex. Lt. C.H. Pike" in Maine, to "Lt. Guy I. Sweet, 2nd Maine Inf. Laredo, Texas", with extensive typed content on the reverse from Pike, who also typed "World Series 1915 Red Sox-Phillies" across the top, on the obverse. Also noted is a Maine postmark on the reverse, dated 7/13/1916.
