Most relate to autograph requests by one Louis Thomsen of Attleboro, MA. The best is an 8/11/53 Mickey Mantle example with his distinctive early signature style on Yankees letterhead: "Thanks very much for writing and asking for my autograph. It sure is encouraging to know of your interest in me and the Yankees. I am pleased to give you my autograph by signing this letter." (VG, "8"). There's a distinctive scrapbooking aesthetic here among the various-sized correspondences, with little pictures and news clippings taped on with vintage tape (or the vestiges of it in cases where the attachment fell off over time). Otherwise, VG condition overall with toning, fold lines and handling wear. Official letterhead is identified in parentheses. Includes: 1937 Ross Robertson (Giants); 1950 Roy Mack (A's); 1952 Jack Purnell (NL Service Bureau); 1952 Will Harridge (AL); 1953 Rogers Hornsby (Reds); 1953 Walt Alston; 1953 Howard Talbot (Cooperstown Baseball Committee); 1954 Win Clark (APBPA); 1954 Eddie Collins, Jr. (Phillies); 1954 Ira Thomas (A's); 1954 Fred Snodgrass (interesting content about a World Series dropped fly); 1954 Sad Sam Jones; 1954 George Davis; 1956 William Benswanger (interesting Pirates content); George Selkirk; James Slagle; Jim Grant (Indians). Auction LOA from JSA.
