Second baseman Starlin Castro (and the rest of the Cubs) were unable to overcome a strong Mets pitching staff in the 2015 NLCS and would have to wait one more year before ending the curse. Castro is the subject of this 34”/30.9 oz Marucci MR 24-M professional bat used during that series with heavy game use including a pine tar layer and a 8” splintered off piece that is missing from the handle. Etched into the knob is the date 10/10/15, which is the day before the NLCS started and properly dates the game used slab of lumber. The knob also has specifications and player identifiers written or etched on and white tape has been wrapped around the handle to enhance grip. A solid addition to any game used bat collection.
