The Browns winning a pennant was cause for celebration, and so they pulled out all the stops on this deluxe flag-shaped program distributed at Sportsman's Park for the AL Pennant flag raising on May 1, 1945. FDR and Commissioner Landis are pictured in memoriam, along with a team photo and individual shots of L. Sewell, Kramer, Shirley, Hayworth, Chartak, Stephens, Taylor, Gutteridge, Galehouse, Potter, Byrnes, McQuinn, Moore, Muncrief, Hollingsworth, Mancuso, Hofmann, Christman, Laabs, Jakucki, Caster, Kreevich, Baker, Zarilla, Zoldak, Hudlin, Clary, Turner. Anther interesting detail is the list of "Brown Players in the Armed Forces" with Ardys Keller denoted as "Killed in Action." Also, the "Meet the New St. Louis Browns" section features Pete Gray: "Lost his right arm when six years old...Catches ball, slides gloved hand across chest and under right armpit, the ball rolling into his hand, glove remaining tucked under his arm." The unscored program measures 10-1/2 x 6-3/4" and rates VG.
